On one side of the argument I believe it would help educate those who's families are in poverty. This may be upsetting for taxpayers to know their hard earned money that gets taken away from them is going to others education but that can help society. While the government pays for criminals who are in jail. The government does not pay for education for people who have never broken the law (college.lovetoknow.com).
However, on the other side of this argument I believe that the government should not pay for someone's education. Although it may benefit the country having more educated citizens. It is also too expensive to be free. College is optional and should be reminded that it is a privilege. It is not the governments problem to send every citizen to college, in many scenarios there are plenty of scholarship opportunities.
I don't think the government should pay for all of someone's college tuition, but I think in certain cases where a student does good in high school, but their family is too poor to pay for the tuition. But if this is in play then I think they should make sure these people actually need help paying for this education.
